the fastest transport means around Italy ..?

I shall go to Italy next week for a trip and I am planning to go to Rome, Lecce and Carrara and I wanted to know about the best means of transportation among these cities , I will stay there for around ten days altogether so I am looking for the easiest and most practical means ..
